The Fundamentals of Product Approval: COLAs/Labeling and Formulas

All members of the beverage alcohol industry creating products overseen by TTB must obtain a certificate of label approval, and in some cases a formula approval, from the Bureau prior to the sale of their products in interstate commerce. While this process can be straightforward for some industry members, many factors and considerations can quickly complicate your approval or renewal. Knowing how to best navigate these issues is critical to getting your labels and formulas approved and your products into the marketplace. This course details TTB regulations pertaining to labels and formulas; how to file for these items; advanced considerations regarding class or type, brand name, and more; and expert insights into successfully filing your labels and formulas.

1. Understand the TTB labeling and formula approval process, their COLAs and Formulas Online platforms, and what you need to know when filing for label or formula approval
2. Learn the regulations regarding labels and formulas and how to deal with other complex TTB formula and label issues, such as allowable changes to approved labels, class or type common issues, and how to know when a formula is required, to ensure your business does not encounter any harmful delays
