This course is geared to help decision-makers gain a deeper understanding of their company’s financial position through analysis of the financial statements. You do not need to know accounting or be very good with numbers to understand this material, because this is not a course focused on calculation, debit, credit, and ledgers. The course explains the stories financial statements tell and their implications on business decisions.

1. Identify the major elements of financial statements
2. Evaluate the financial health of a business using financial statements
3. Determine limitations of the information contained in financial statements
4. Understand the basic accounting concepts on which the preparation of financial statements is based
5. Describe how balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements are developed and the relationship between the statements
